This blog started because I wanted to share my journals. I thought I would give a basic outline of my “personal books” in order inspire you all in your own journey.
I guess the first thing to cover is its purpose. It’s not always easy verbally expressing yourself or finding outlets. Writing doesn’t have to make perfect sense when it comes out. It’s more of organizing – then coming to a conclusion. Sometimes there is a half a page or 2, whatever it takes to process thoughts and make them complete.
I have 3 journals:
- Prayer Journal. It’s easy to forget request and become frustrated. To make sure I know the status of my prayers – I write them out. Most of the time it allows me to see that God is listening and working things out day by day. My prayer journal helps keep my faith strong.
- Thought Journal. This includes life events – joyful moments – insecurities. Writing out milestones in my life helps me keep track of time. You never know how slow (or fast) moments go until you check the dates again. Reading thoughts over also helps me think about what I can do next time something like this happens.
- Career / Professional Journal. Having this journal helps me keep my materialistic objectives together. Goals & business wishlist are all in this book. Whenever I get an idea it’s best to just write everything down.
My first journal was just for my thoughts. Once I started maturing in my career and prayers – the other 2 followed. You can start off with whichever one you would like.
I try to journal at least 4 times a week. One thing I need to work on is making it an everyday habit. For now, I’m just taking baby steps.
