Ok now before we go into this – let me just say:
- I have lied before
- I cannot promise that I won’t tell a white lie in the future
- I do believe we all have flaws – I don’t believe everyone tells the truth all of the time
Now that we have “kept it real”, I want to go over telling the truth according to the Christian lifestyle.
The Bible is very clear about bearing false witness. Each lie will come to the light. Once all is revealed, we will be judged and face consequences with God. [Exodous 23:1]
Like I always do, I’m going to speak from my own experiences. I try my best not to put myself in compromising situations. If someone asks me a question, I will try my best to communicate my truth. Any opinions or unnecessary details will be left out. The gospels teach us that when we speak the truth, we will be free from bondage.
Of course, some people don’t like hearing the truth. That’s really not our problem. I know that as long as I do what’s right by my faith – I will be protected.
Now please do not take this as an excuse to go out of your way to be mean to other people. Anger and hate are also not right. Instead, speak from a place of comfort knowing the truth will set you free. [John 8:32]
