Prayer Week 2.26.18

Welcome once again to this weeks prayer. It is the last week of February, let’s make it count!

Thank you for showing me so much mercy and grace. Thank you for giving me your favor and also revealing yourself in such a beautiful way.

Even though I don’t know everything, I know you are with me. I pray to allow your vision and purpose for my life to unfold. Allow me to accept the direction you want to take me in. It may not be what I imagined – but I know for sure your ways are so much better than mine. I pray for an abundance of wealth both in the physical and spiritual world.

I want to know and walk with you. I have the faith of a mustard seed and want you to deliver on all the promises you have for people who serve you. Please give a future of hope and blessings. Let my health continue to grow so that I may do what I need to do to live a good life.

Your kingdom come – your will be done – on earth – how it is done in heaven.

In Jesus Name

His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. 2 Peter 1:3-4

Old Testament : The Purpose

If the point of living the Christian life is to follow Jesus, why don’t we just begin with that? Why is there an old testament?

After research and clarity – it all makes sense.

23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 (New Testament.)

What better to illustrate this by starting from the beginning? In America we have the saying “if you don’t understand your past, you are bound to repeat mistakes.” It’s important to understand Adam and Eve – Malachi (the last book of the OT) so we understand the nature of humans. It’s not to say we will do things the exact way – it’s more of patterns of society.

Understanding the state of the world before Jesus creates a clear picture of why we needed him in the first place.

But now he has appeared one time, at the end of the ages, for the removal of sin by the sacrifice of himself. Hebrew 9:26

God wanted no man to suffer from sin’s burden. When I do something I know I shouldn’t be doing – a lot of times I feel horrible. Changing from my ways to make things right (repenting) can only be done when I pray through Jesus.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

The highest rulers of the land – all the money in the world could not get everyone to eternal life. Sacrifices and high priest were a big deal in the Old Testament. Because they had to keep doing it, it was ineffective. Something everlasting was needed to save the world.

16 For God loved the world in this way. He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

Combing the testaments gives a image of our downfalls, weaknesses, yet the favor and potential we have. We all have a super hero : Jesus.

God Will Bless You … But Wait There’s More

I was severely skinny with braces and glasses. My clothing choice was not the best. The car I drove had so many dents in it. And yes – I lived with my parents after the American age tells you should get out.

God can take any situation – any person and turn them into something. He will call the weak and make them strong to show who he is.

Please don’t.

God doesn’t want to just bless you so your enemies can become footstools. It’s deeper than that. You can’t want success just to show off and be selfish in your ways.

Blessings are to change your heart. When your heart is changed you will live for him. Living for him will influence those around you to be closer to him. The more the better to glorify his holy name.

When I lost my braces and started living the American dream – yes my head got a little big. It took my Aunt (the one who told me I need to eat because I’m too skinny) to re direct me back to the lord.

“Sometimes there is spiritual warfare. Sometimes your ego can make you fall right into the enemy’s trap.”

My blessings and accomplishments had become louder than God. And you know what the bible says : he can give and take away.

Luckily I had family around me to talk sense into me. To those who may not have that. Please read this -STOP.- Come back down from your high horse. Live for the creator and source who has blessed you.

12 For a day belonging to the Lord of Armies is coming
against all that is proud and lofty,
against all that is lifted up—it will be humbled— Isaiah 2:12

My Monday Prayer

Thank you for giving me a new day to make things right

Thank you for allowing me to be in good health and in perfect peace

I pray that you protect me from anything that is not of you

Order my steps in the way you want me to live

I am scared of what the future holds and if I will accomplish my goals

I pray that you put my mind at ease

And forgive my faults

Please know my heart and intentions are good and I am trying even when I fall short of the glory

I pray for prosperity and growth through out the week

I pray that you will allow me to see myself and others the way you see them

And when I feel like life gets harder than I can manage, I pray that I will rely on your strength and patience for all things to come together.

You are more than I could ever ask for

And you know every inch of my life and still want to give me unconditional love

For that, I am forever grateful

In Jesus Name Amen

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; In the morning I plead my case to you and watch expectantly. Psalm 5:3

A Reminder of Grace

If the bible isn’t really your thing, you probably would think it was some perfect utopia book where everyone was living right and always being perfect. No one sinned and war and hardships were not an issue.

Well let’s stop right there, because that is false. No one was perfect in the bible. In fact if you read carefully, you would see a lot of people with flaws and imperfections. The Old Testament was a dark & scary time. I can barely handle today’s issues in America, I can only imagine living in that time period.

From murder to wars, nothing was off-limits in the Old Testament. Abraham almost sacrificed his son to death. Yet God still spoke to him and gave him prosperity and power. How amazing is that?

In this life, I will not make all the right decisions. I will not always walk in the spirit of God.  But God created all of us with a purpose to glorify his name. We must always remember that grace is what keeps us alive and thriving : not our perfection. When we understand God’s love, our hearts will strive to be good people — and that’s all that matters.
