For the past few months, I’ve been doing a lot of things I didn’t feel like doing. “So why did you do it if you didn’t want to?”
There was a part of me that wanted to grow and become a better person. Discovering my full potential will always be important to me. Honestly, I was willing to sacrifice the present happiness for a rewarding future.
Every day at 5:00 I would go to the gym and push myself to new heights. There were days when I didn’t feel like showing up. I had to bribe myself to walk up and down hills on the treadmill. When it got too easy, I looked for a new challenge. Along the way, I’ve met some really wonderful people who promoted my growth. My confidence became high and genuine.
After a while, I realized my assignment was over. It was time to once again change and progress into something more.
God wants to give us new experiences and ways of life. No – it won’t be easy when you first start. Yes – you will feel like looking for an exit everytime something does not go your way. I promise you after every struggle, there is a blessing.
For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. Hebrews 10:36

No matter where I go, I seem to have people ask this questions. Directly or indirectly, I know this what some people think. I’m sure people say this to you too. Please do not take this as a sign to back down from who you are in Christ. Stand up for yourself.
Here are a few bible verses to develop your identity:
- We are a child of God (John 1:12 )
- We are created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27)
- We are the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27)
- We are blessed and highly favored (Luke 1:28)
- We are temples – God lives in us (1 Corinthians 19:20)
- We are given plans to prosper (Jeremiah 29:11)
Just remember that you have a special assignment on this earth. Shine your light!

Pastors say this bible scripture all the time. Do we have to be mean to everyone to protect ourselves? Do we have to be distant and not let anyone see us for who we really are?
There is so much hate in the world. Bitterness and cruelty cause some to act as a raging animal. If we don’t guard our heart and stand up for ourselves with confidence, we will become like this corrupt world.
I had to learn how to not use my knowledge as a way to be another evil person. Guarding your heart means to simply take a step back so you can have compassion for others instead of hate.
People will aggravate you. Things will not go your way. Instead of taking your pain to be a victim, fight back with the goodness of the Lord.
Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life. Proverbs 4:23

“You can’t be in flight or fight forever.” This is a quote from a podcast I heard recently. It had me thinking about my life up until this point.
This week will be one year since I’ve been in a new city. Even though it was hard, I’ve met some wonderful people. God has really delivered me from too much self-protection. Finally, I’m learning to believe people again.
It can be easy to forget the benefits of being vulnerable. We give up the opportunity for the good people to love us for our flaws. There is no room for blessings because we think everything is for the bad instead of the good. I don’t have to be the mean girl anymore because people won’t believe my nice sweet side. I can love a man and trust he won’t hurt me like other “boys” have done in the past.
Spiritual warfare is real, but sometimes we have to admit that the real enemy is ourselves. Get out of your own way and let love take over. Love is the only thing that can conquer all the hate and fear in the world. Use it and know that you will be ok with whatever life throws at you.
16 I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on paths they have not known. I will turn darkness to light in front of them, and rough places into level ground. This is what I will do for them, and I will not forsake them.

I may not know everything, but I’m willing to grow. You are the source of achieving my true potential. I want to see my worth in your eyes because you are the only one to fulfill this hole in my soul. Thank you for everything you have done for me – your power is beyond measure. Even when I don’t understand your ways – know that I believe in you. See my faith and intentions as pure and genuine. Allow your light to shine through me so people will know your perfect grace. I love you so much.

2018 will be 4 years since I’ve been out of college. Whatever stage you are in your education, this is dedicated to you.
- Finding your learning style can solve a lot of problems. Are you a visual learner? Do you have to hear things in order for it to stick to your mind? Or maybe you have to use your hands. Knowing how your brain works can help you achieve your goals.
- Create a schedule. Once you figure out what is best for you, plan out an agenda. When I was in school, I had to study right after class. Waiting until the sunset was an automatic “not going to happen.”
- Self-discipline is key. Not everyone likes school. Let’s face it, education is a way to have a brighter future. Even during the rough times, pushing through is the only way to ace your classes.
- Find a community of supporters. Classmates, encouragers, anyone positive. Pep talks and help with your work will keep you motivated.
- And remember with a mustard of faith – all things are possible. When you work hard – you will see progress.

One of my close family members found cancer in his chest. The entire family was worried crying and praying on the phone. We didn’t want to lose someone else to this horrible disease.
My mother and I took a 3-hour road trip to visit him after his surgery. Once we arrived there we couldn’t believe what we saw. This man was up walking and having a conversation and talking to us.
Our family has always been the type to be strong no matter what. When my grandmother was dying from cancer, she was still laying in the bed trying to work and accomplish goals.
Maybe you have an issue and you weren’t taught to be strong and be a fighter. You don’t know how or why you should fight to see another day.
It doesn’t matter how you were raised, once you become a new creature in Christ, you were given the strength and the authority to overcome anything.
Stand firm in the name of the lord and his power will conquer any problem. You are going to be ok – just have a little faith.
Because he loved your ancestors and chose their descendants after them, he brought you out of Egypt by his Presence and his great strength,

One of the things I have been doing this month is planning around the visions I have for my life. This includes Budgeting, creating charts, and research. I pray my friends don’t think I’m crazy when they tag along on tours to event spaces.
I may not have concrete answers to life, but I know if it is placed in my heart and mind – I can do it.
It has become a hobby of mine to dream and plan for everything I want. Use this as a message to put work to faith. It may seem weird at first, but it will give you the motivation to keep striving at life.
The only rule I follow when dreaming is not to have a specific time frame. There are certain things that you cannot rush God to do. He has a season for everything to unfold. Like they say it will be worth the wait.
Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. 2 For by it our ancestors won God’s approval.
3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible.

Don’t you for a second think you are not special. You are.
Make peace with your thoughts.
God created you with perfect design
Even when you think you’re not good or smart enough – he sees value in you
Now get up and conquer the world.
God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.

An art teacher in my high school gave the class a quote one day – it stuck with me to this day. “What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?”
To elaborate I will ask: Would you take more risk? Would you leave an unhealthy circumstance with no answers to what will happen next? Would you be generous with your smile and love? I mean seriously, what would you do?
The fruit of faithfulness is so rebellious of what this world tells you about yourself.
“You know what? I don’t care what you think I deserve or who you think I am. I know I am a child of God and that means all my needs will be met and then some.”
When you walk with the presence of God in your life, you can conquer anything.
35 “‘Then I will raise up a faithful priest for myself. He will do whatever is in my heart and mind. I will establish a lasting dynasty for him, and he will walk before my anointed one for all time.
1 Samuel 2:35
