A clip from my thoughts on June 9th, 2018
I feel every inch of my spirit.
Alive, uncomfortable, anxious hoping silence will calm me.
Back and forth I go over thoughts and how I could make things right – I’m left with nothing
I pause and sigh. “You know what I’m only one person, I’m not God. I can’t do everything. I can’t please everyone.”
If we are not clear about what our purpose and roles are in life, it sort of becomes like we’re on a hamster wheel.
I’m in the process of letting go of perfectionism, it’s served its purpose in my life. I accept that I won’t always know the answer or have solutions for others. We were all given one mind and spirit for a reason – we weren’t designed to live for other people. Yes, it is important to be in a supportive community and of service to others – but our connection to God is the most important aspect of our existence.
I release all plans and fears, and once again – I take a leap of faith.
25 Strength and honor are her clothing, and she can laugh at the time to come. Proverbs 31:25

The reason why a lot of people come to my site is for the weekly prayers. I’m so honored for all the prayer request sent and curious minds about prayer. While it is important we stay in community with one another, I want to give 7 things you should know about prayer.
- Anyone can pray. No matter what your appearance or heart looks like, God is waiting to hear from you. You were created with perfect detail.
- Prayer is simply communicating with your maker.
- You can pray anywhere you would like. If you’re in public – praying in your head is still a private way for God to hear you. I like to pray in my bed or on my couch in my apartment. Eventually, I’m going to create a private space dedicated to becoming fully intimate with God.
- Many would like to know why do people pray? To me, this is like asking why do we put oil in our car? Why do we go to the doctor? Why do we need to have a community with others? These are all needed to make sure we are on the right path. How else would our steps be ordered by the divine master without checking in? How else do we have peace about decisions? Prayer is needed!
- There is no right or wrong way to pray. Before I was really “saved”, you won’t believe some of the stuff I was “keeping it real” about. It’s not about how you start your prayer journey, it’s about God meeting you where you are to elevate you.
- Speaking of keeping it real, it reminds me of my pastor’s quote: “if we could have figured it all out on our own – our lives would be perfect and we would have everything we want.” Our ego tells us that if we just do this and that we’ll be ok and that praying shouldn’t matter. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to wake up 20 years from now and wonder what went wrong. We all have to humble ourselves and ask for direction.
- God moves, even if you don’t think so. I remember praying “God I want to change!” Next thing I know, everything started going “wrong.” It wasn’t until I got older I realized God was cleaning up house. Yes, it might feel uncomfortable but we have to trust in the plan.
The most important thing to remember is God always fulfills all promises and needs to those who love and stay faithful to him.
3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your descendants and My blessing on your offspring. Isaiah 44:3

2 things that will happen in life.
You will be hurt and you will hurt people. You may not do it intentionally – but it is inevitable. In recent years, I have hurt people from walking away. I love myself way too much than to stay in something that is toxic to my well being.
We always direct forgiveness towards other people. “They did this and that.” Today I want to take a different approach.
There are times in life the main person we need to forgive is ourselves. “If I knew something was going to go bad, I would have done it this way. I just didn’t know” Guilty and feeling ashamed are reactions to “mistakes” we made in life.
Yes, we should be accountable for our actions making us guilty as charged. But that does not automatically mean something is wrong with us – we are simply just doing the best we can.
Pick yourself off the ground and keep pushing towards a brighter future. The only failure is staying in the same place instead of trying to grow and improve.
9 Compassion and forgiveness belong to the Lord our God, though we have rebelled against him Daniel 9:9

We’ve all been there. You get into an argument with someone. Our first reaction is to start bringing up all of those bad things we think about them. Sure we would never say it to them if we weren’t upset and hurt, but it’s a battle and we have to win.
When I was a young girl in college — saying the first bad thought that came to my mind felt good. “Oh yeah, you want to be hurt my feelings? Well, let’s see how you like this.”
People aren’t perfect – someone will do or say something that you don’t like. I had to start putting myself in other people’s shoes.
Kindness comes from understanding someone’s weaknesses and choosing not to hurt them. It’s easy to call a person out on their insecurities so you feel great for the moment. Everyone has bad days – including you. I wouldn’t want someone to kick me when I’m down, so I try not to do it to others.
Being kind does not mean you can’t be assertive or speak your truth. I mean the truth does set you free (John 8:32). However, when you say what needs to be said, you can be considerate of the another’s circumstances. You may know they are going through this or that – don’t make them feel even worst, no matter how good it feels. Believe me, it will come back to bite you.
Kindness – a fruit that is worth the development.
10 Then he said, “May the Lord bless you, my daughter. You have shown more kindness now than before, because you have not pursued younger men, whether rich or poor. Ruth 3:10

Trials and tribulations are inevitable. There will be bad days.
Yes, it is possible to have this fruit of the spirit. No matter your situation or thoughts, you can have peace.
Praying to God is what got me through some of my darkest hours. “This is what’s going on, I don’t know what’s going to happen. I pray that you take this pain away from me.”
This previous Sunday it was pouring down rain. I had enough faith to drive to church. Once I got in the parking lot, volunteers were waiting for people with umbrellas. They didn’t ask questions or judge the rain. We all kept the umbrella until we safely got in the building.
No matter how bad it may seem, he wants to give you peace in your storm. Peace helps to develop your strength while you are waiting for the light to shine.
Please give God the authority over your mind and emotions. Our father can reassure us during imperfect times.
A peaceful mind will help you make the best decisions for your life to become whole. So please pray for this fruit.
Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

In college, I was the annoying friend who always had something positive to say. When our senior project was overwhelming, I was the one uplifting my exhausted friends. It’s not like my life was perfect at that time. It was actually one of the stressful moments I endured in years.
I just ended a 3 years relationship and my parents were looking for me to become an adult. It was a time in my life when I was between the young girl phase trying to transition into a woman. Even though I didn’t know Jesus fully – I had a mustard seed of faith. My belief in God was the only thing that kept me going. My motto became “this is where I am in life and I’m not going to let anxiety ruin my last year of college.”
There is a big difference between happiness and joy. Happiness comes from the result of your current situation. “Hey things are going pretty good, I like my life. I guess I will be happy.” Joy says “this season may not be what I want but I’m going to enjoy what I have. I’m not going to have a pity party.”
It doesn’t mean you don’t want more out of life or you are just going to sit and let life beat you up. It simply means you have to make the most out of the cards you were dealt.
Maybe you don’t feel good or pretty right now. Maybe situations in life are not going the way you hope them to be. Hey sometimes life isn’t fair and it’s hard. Joy comes from accepting where you are in life and making it work. Joy can sometimes mean making lemonade out of lemons.
The result of having joy is giving God the power to order your steps. I have so much to be thankful for now because I gave my troubles to Jesus. My life isn’t perfect but I’m blessed beyond measure. When you stop to accept what you have and let God handle the rest, the only way to go is up.
10 Then he said to them, “Go and eat what is rich, drink what is sweet, and send portions to those who have nothing prepared, since today is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, because the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Hello everyone! This is the first Tuesday prayer. Thank you so much for being patient with me. I had doubts about the change but I’m so excited and blessed for your support.
Here is this week’s prayer. Hope you all have a blessed week!
Thank you for allowing me to wake up this morning with Joy and peace. Thank you for revealing your love and grace to me. Thank you for being unconditional in your gratitude and nurture through this phase of my life.
I pray for the strength to live bold in faith and not by sight. As I transition to the next phase in my life, I pray that everything I do glorifies your holy name. Let my character and integrity continue to uphold the Christian standard. If there is anything I need to change – let it be done.
I pray to continue to develop the fruits of the holy spirit. Let me find my identity in Christ and not of this world. I want your light to shine in all areas of my life. I surrender everything so that you will have the final say so in all problems or fears I may have.
Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth how it is done in heaven. In Jesus name -Amen
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. The law is not against such things.
